This three-story Fishtown twin, located at near the corner of East Berks Street and Frankford Avenue, is another example of how the Fishtown housing market is still moving upstream. Northern Liberties may have to watch out, the competition is heating up. Just a few weeks ago we reported on homes in the nearby neighborhood listing for nearly half of a million. Well, here’s another. This home sold for $428,000.
Only a little while ago, it was just another lot until it was purchased for $45,000 in May of 2011.
Currently, the team at Real Construction has been putting the finishing touches on the home. The style is typical of most city homes; a bit narrow, but high ceilings offset the size, giving the illusion of more space. There are four and a half bathrooms and three bedrooms along with a den/office space. The home features clean white walls with dark hardwood floors and a two-story living room with a dramatic, floating glass-railed staircase leading to the second-floor overlook balcony. The glass maintains the stark stylish look in addition to adding texture to the interior. It also promotes the feeling of the open space plan.
The master bedroom suite on the third floor has a balcony overlooking the Kensington High School football field and a luxurious stone tile bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower and corner Jacuzzi tub.
The kitchen is average size, but once again, the open floor plan allows for plenty of entertaining space. The dark wood cabinets are contrasted with a white marble back splash and white counters. While the home has no parking, there is a basement and a small enclosed backyard that is accessed through glass doors in the kitchen.
As stated before, this new construction is already sold and will be completed soon.
